Artist to listen to

From time to time I listen to artists that have something to say. Sometimes I want to be educated not spaced out on fun music. One artist I'm keeping my eye on is Vanessa Ventura a.k.a. Vanessa Butterfly. Socially conscious and non-laissez faire approach to her music. She teaching people I'm tired with the bimbo pop music, it's abash on any level.
